What's inside
- Google tag: Tags › New › Google tag › trigger Initialization – All Pages (containers with Ads/Floodlight tags auto-load one since 10 Apr 2025 — put yours first anyway)
- Consent default: Tags › Custom HTML (artifact A-002) › trigger Consent Initialization – All Pages
- IDs: Variables › Built-in › Utilities › Client ID / Session ID / Session Number (since Dec 2025) — replace cookie parsers
- Server-side: Clients › Web container client serves gtag.js and gtm.js (the GA client stopped serving dependencies on 30 Jun 2025)
- How the container loads: Admin › Install Google Tag Manager — a container loaded through /gtag/js paths behaves by the loading ID since 9 Jul 2026
- After publish: Google tag settings › Tag Diagnostics (since Jun 2024) and Preview with Tag Assistant
Install
- Work top to bottom in a Workspace; publish once.
- Run Tag Diagnostics; fix anything flagged before you close the ticket.
