AI Max auto-upgrade of Search campaigns begins (rolls out through 30 September)
Google Ads began automatically upgrading Search campaigns still running campaign-level broad match or standalone automatically created assets to AI Max; the job 'will roll out progressively throughout the month'. Two output-only fields record when each campaign flipped: campaign.aca_migration_date_time and campaign.broad_match_migration_date_time.
Source: Google Ads API — Campaign resource (migration fields).
What it breaks
A September-against-August comparison at account level measures the migration schedule, not the product. Campaigns arriving from broad match land with text customization off; those from automatically created assets land with it on — different doses per cohort.
Who it hits: Any account with legacy broad-match or ACA Search campaigns; every agency dashboard that compares months.
The fix
Pull the two migration timestamps per campaign, treat each campaign as its own before/after, and annotate the flip date. Do not compare the account month over month across September.

AI Max migration date fields (GAQL)
The query that dates every Search campaign's flip to AI Max, so you analyse each campaign before and after its own timestamp instead of comparing September to August.
